Northern Ballet Impact Report

A year in numbers...

Find out how your incredible support has made a difference to Northern ballet

The difference our work has made

'Every Northern ballet performance is brilliant, but The Nutcracker was amazing. The familiar music helped, but the costumes, the scenery, the interpretation of the story, and of course, the dancing, were all fantastic. I had the same level of wonder as when I saw my first ballet, which was The Nutcracker, when I was probably 8 (now I’m 63). It was magical.’
Audience member
‘What an emotional night. I felt privileged to be in the audience.’
Audience member
‘My first opportunity, and at my age, to dance ballet - inspired and I love it. The warmup, technique, adaptions, choreography, the teaching. Eager to continue the enjoyment it brings, leaning and developing, regularly.’

‘I’ve so enjoyed learning something I thought was out of reach,’

‘I come away every year feeling fulfilled, inspired, happy, part of something and grateful that you do this for people like me every year and remind me that me and my family are not alone, are not isolated, are not pitied, are included and part of this world. Thank you so very, very, very much!! You make a difference!!’
Expressions participant
‘The children were blown away by the venue, it is a real treat to go to the Grand at any time and for some this was their first ever time there. The Ballet was perfection, seeing the Nutcracker was just magical for them. Some of them were just beaming from ear to ear.’
Teacher from Beechwood Primary School, one of our Rise schools
‘I thought ballet was a girly thing, but now I know that I can do ballet and I can do it and it makes me feel good when I move’
